Critical Role Season Four Reveals the Fighters Party

From the very beginning of Campaign 4, new Dungeon Master Brennan Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with rich lore, a wide array of personalities, and a thrilling plot showcasing celestial beings, fiends, and sinister influences increasing in strength within the urban setting.

Heads-up: Revealing details for the latest installment of this adventure are included.

The Soldiers Table Unveiled

Episode 3 finished on a dramatic pause and revealed the first table of characters who will separate from the main group to embark on their own adventure, separate from the remaining groups.

This warrior group consists of Teor (played by Travis Willingham), Thimble (Laura), the fierce warrior (Whitney Moore), Wicander (Sam Riegel), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie).

Why Split the Party?

Given a large ensemble, it was evident from the start that having everyone at the same party would be unfeasible.

Hence, the initial installments of this story serve as an Introduction, connecting the characters’ stories before branching into three separate parties: Fighters, Strategists, and Explorers.

The Nature of the Warrior Group

According to the Dungeon Master, the combat-focused party is for participants who are drawn to a traditionally charged battle-oriented gameplay experience where non-violent answers are scarce.

Upon first impression, figures such as the hesitant healer the cleric might seem mismatched, but the actions of episode 3 demonstrate why these five characters are perfectly fit for the Soldiers table.

Why They Must Go

First, the group has a clear idea where to head next after a violent opening clash with the enemy group.

An old friend of Thjazi Fang—whose passing initiated the campaign’s events—manipulated the foes for his own means, breaking into the hidden lair, striking Thimble, and stealing all the magical artifacts to auction.

The traitor then settled his debts and escaped to a secure base in Gormalay, Timmony, north of the city, with Cyd Pridesire close behind.

Individual Reasons

Moreover, each character has a personal reason to depart the metropolitan area:

  • The rogue, as the close ally and trusted friend, wants retribution.
  • The adventurer is familiar with the northern area and advises that it is a hostile place.
  • The warrior and The healer, having resisted his family’s wishes to execute Teor and instead freed him, have no safe haven.
  • But, their status as important members in House Halovar could help the party reach locations they normally couldn’t.
  • Furthermore, The fighter pledged a life debt to The savior for his salvation and will now accompany him wherever.

Pursued by Authorities

Finally, all of them are wanted by the rulers that govern the setting for a range of causes, making staying in the city no longer safe:

  • The agile adventurer and The character are known criminals.
  • Tyranny and Wicander turned against the influential house and the horde of evil beings they are partnered with.
  • The fighter is wanted dead by House Halovar.

This results in them few options but to travel to the northern region in quest for Casimir.

Upcoming Developments

According to the latest episode’s post-show segment, we learn that the Soldiers table will not appear in the upcoming installment, leaving the remaining eight players to round up the Seekers and Strategists tables.

Fans can expect discovering which characters will be in which group in the story’s concluding setup installment, released on October 24.
